Vein took a step out onto the street, taking a glance around as he did so. He had long since stopped the use of the 'bodyguards' the company had repeatedly attempted to get him to use, he didn't particularly care. He prefered to walk by himself, and when people didn't follow him so closely he could use his ability more freely. The sun had long since fallen beneath the horizon, and the streets were mostly deserted. He'd lived through enough 'Apocali' to know that this was the norm. They quickly learned to run into their homes before the dark fell, believing it would keep them from dying.

Having lived through most of these... things (and being involved in a few of them) this wasn't really one of the worst ones that'd happened, although, if you'd asked someone that had only lived through this one, they'd probably say this one was the worst. But, there'd certainly been worse. He continued to move down the street, not bothering to move as he brushed past several people hurrying on down the street. Dressed in only an undershirt and a pair of jeans, most looked rather suspicious of him. If they recognized him, it didn't show on their faces. Or maybe they did, and it added to their suspicion that someone like him would be dressed so shabbily.

He heard demonic laughter ahead and he sighed. He would just keep walking... just keep walking... he didn't feel like fight...in...g. The motorcycle that he'd driven to the area flung down the street, crumpled into a rather tight ball. His teeth immediatly started grinding. Whether that was a demon, mutant, or human that'd done that, they would be dead rather soon.

A nine foot green cyclops of a demon was 'playing' in the intersection down the street. It smashed cars, tossed anything much lighter, and ripped the light out of the ground. It looked back as it heard footsteps over its rampage, and got an evil smile on its face, a large row of sharp teeth being revealed as it did so. The cold stare on Vein's face as he looked at the creature didn't change, but it would soon be dead. A slight grin formed on his face, that seemed almost as threatening (if not more threatening) than the smile on the demon's face.

"Hoomin snuack," it said, reaching toward him with its arms, which seemed to be around the same length it was. It wasn't that intelligent apparently. Not that it made much of a difference.

"Demon corpse," he responded, and grabbed its finger, applying all of his force into the squeeze, instantly feeling the bone in the demon's finger snap. It released a scream, which seemed to be more of surprise than of pain. That would change momentarily though. Without releasing his grip, his veins slid into the demon's body, wrapping around its bones, and a couple making their way up to its hearts. The demon attempted to thrash, but he'd sent some out of his feet as well, keeping him rooted to the spot.

Its screams of surprise turned to screams of pain as the veins started to put pressure on its bones, and he heard them begin to crack. "Such a lovely sound," he said in a tone of someone listening to their favourite song. Finally, he heard the snap and watched the demon start to crumble, as the bones wrapped around him began to shatter. Not break, completely shatter.

The demon's screams were silenced, as the pain became so intense it could no longer even manage to make the noise. He started at the pain on its face with a cold indifference for a moment, before putting it out of its misery by squeezing its hearts until they simultaneously burst, one final act of pain. Anyone watching the event, unless they happened to have x-ray vision, would've just seen Vein standing there, wrap his hand around its finger, and then it suddenly went into intense pain and died.

The veins retracted back into his body, and he released the arm, letting its arm fall to the ground. He looked down at his hand, shaking it slightly. "Damn, got demon blood on my hand," he muttered. He glanced around, looking to see if anyone had caught his little performance. He didn't particularly care, it would just be easier if they hadn't.

The night air carried with it a chilling breeze. It held the scent of death, a rather appealing delight that drew in Azazel. He crouched upon a windowsill, thirty stories up, the glass of the window long since shattered from the growing Hell-Earth. Azazel had had his fill of blood - though he was always willing to drink more - and was currently enjoying the show. It was true, he had originally planned on taking down the one-eyed brute himself. But seeing the puny man defeat the demon was much more interesting.

He is a mutant... Cerbera whispered from within her medallion around Azazel's neck. He simply nodded, his nose lifting to the air.

"I could tell that much. No man could take down such a demon without the aid of abilities..." Azazel smiled cruelly, his tongue lashing out to caress his fangs.

Azazel took in a long breath, sniffing the air, nodding once more. The demon down, and the man looking rather bored, Azazel decided to pay him a visit. He jumped from the windowsill, a pair of crimson, flowing wings bursting from his back. He soared down to the ground, one arm folded behind his back, the other bent at his side. He touched down fifteen feet away from the mutant, the blood making up his wings coursing back into his body. He didn't waste a moment, giving the man a wide smile, his fangs retracted.

"Hello, good sir. That was quite the battle. Death Touch, was it? Though, I do believe it was something more..." Azazel continued smiling, both arms now crossed behind his back. He didn't look very old, though his eyes held a wisdom that defied that.

Vein watched as the blood slid down onto the ground faster than it would have on a normal person, his arm not showing the slightest amount, and there wasn't a slight clue that it had been on him in the first place. The advantages of controlling one's own body, baths and showers weren't always required to keep clean. Although, he still liked the feeling of the shower. He heard a sound nearby him, the crunch of gravel beneath someone's feet. A disguise would be best for the moment....

His fingerprints seemed to be obliterated from his hand. His blood shifted types, and his skin got slightly darker, more that of a tan than anything else. His hair became black, and his eyes changed and became gold. His facial hair sunk back in his skin, and he turned to face the new person. It was dark in the street, the demon having ripped the lights out of the ground. Irritating.

He shut his eyes for a moment, before opening them and the world was bright. His pupils had become more like a cat's, allowing him to see slightly better in the dark. He didn't have the correct eye type for it to be as perfect as a cat or other night-time predator's vision, but it would do for the moment. He could see enough to see the other person anyway.

"I would not call it a battle per say. It wasn't intelligent enough to be much more than an annoyance; and yes, something like that," he said. Strangers that mysteriously appear out of no where weren't people to tell much too. His toys barely got a name out of him (not that they really wanted much more, the word 'Vige' was about equivilent to cash, so they didn't need to hear anything else). And, he doubted there was a person alive that knew his true power and history. Having control of his entire body, mind included, made it slightly difficult for invaders to tell fact from fiction.

He took a few steps over as the demon's blood started to pool. He didn't need to get any of it all over his clothes, now did he? His eyes began examining the other man, analyzing him quickly. Reading people was one of his many specialties; he'd spent years mastering it.

Azazel's eyes were stronger than any cat or mouse, they were the eyes of a vampire. Vein's transformation, though quite the intriguing sight, was in no way hidden from Azazel's view. Of course, he gave no clue that he had seen it; where would the fun be in that?

Another breeze coursed by, over the mutant, and then Azazel, causing his long coat to sway this way and that. The breeze carried with it Vein's scent, strong and delicious. Azazel's nostrils flared, taking in the intoxicating stench, and a wide smile spread across his face. His fangs never showed themselves, but there was definitely an animalistic look to the grin.

With a slight bow, Azazel spoke, "Of course, it looked quite simple for you...You may call me Azazel..." The vampire wished to learn more about the man's abilities, so he would play nice for now. Depending on how things went, he may even decide not to feed on this mutant....

Watch yourself, Azazel. This one is not a complete fool like most... Cerbera spoke with an amused tone within Azazel's mind. The demon dog wasn't one for fighting, but watching a battle instead, so talking to Azazel like this was her usual contribution. Azazel's face never faltered.

Are you really so worried, Cerbera? I thought you knew better... Azazel spoke to her through his mind, their own little conversation. With a sigh and a playful inflection, Cerbera replied, Always playing with your food... Azazel's smile simply turned fiercer.

"So," Azazel began, "What is a fine mutant such as yourself doing out in such a dangerous darkness? Surely there is a safer place for you to be, yes? These demons do find your kind to be quite...delectable..." Azazel's tongue lapped over his lips like a snake to add to the statement, but he couldn't help but let out an elegant laugh afterward.

Vein couldn't see the Vampire's actions, which was probably a good thing. He was born and raised in Romania; the most supersticious place in the universe. While he was never so supernaturally paranoid as some of his fellow countrymen (especially from his time, when Drake was still Dracula), he had spent some of his resources in research of the modern time. Vampires were good at hiding their tracks... but not that good. Especially when there were those like Blade, whom didn't particularly care if they got caught. There were... some others he knew.

But, he hadn't seen the man's actions, but he'd heard the laugh. He could explain that away. While a few other thoughts crossed his mind, they were mostly just went away. Well, not away, but filed in case he did anything else... suspicious. You didn't live to be his age without being discovered, without logging quite a few suspicions, and being very careful. It was in his nature.

"John," he said in response to the name. He had more than one alias that could bare some scrutiny. However, it didn't take a genius to come up with a fake name. It didn't hurt that he could manipulate his vocal cords to sound like about anyone though. Which was good for alias' and the like, and for parties, and that was about it.

At the question, Vein just looked down at the body in front of him for a moment. He just watched him bring down a demon big enough to pick him up and eat him, apparently just by grabbing his finger, without being moved by the demon's thrashing at all. Yes, he was terrifed to walk around. Even the thought was sarcastic.

"I'm capable of taking care of myself." His voice had more of a bemused quality than anything else to it. He started walking forward, he disliked talking in the dark, despite his now cat-like eyes. He didn't want to try and perfect the art. He probably could figure out how if he wanted to, but why would he? He didn't plan on living in a cave anytime soon. It also didn't seem like the sun would be going out anytime soon either.
