Sapphire Ellis Island, NY Patrolling the city...
The sun was setting. Shadows crept along the walls of the passing buildings as the sun went to sleep and the moon came out to play. After a long day at the Bugle, Becca wanted nothing more than to go home and get some rest. However, with the recent increase in bad guy activity she decided that patrolling the city every night would be the best thing to do. So on she flew, with her Sapphire costume, hoping not to run into any trouble tonight. After some flying around the city Sapphire found nothing she could fight. Finally, the last place she had to check was Ellis Island
. A place that once had been the beginning for most immigrants coming into the United States; nowadays the place was a National Monument and not too many people went there to do bad things.
Becca loved going there at night to think about her life and meditate. Right next to the small island one of the biggest American monuments can be found. The one and only Lady Liberty. A sign of freedom and welcome to many people in the USA.
Becca then flew to the top of the statue and sat on the lady's head. A small gust of wind blew her hair behind her as she sat down on the statue. Something told her things might actually be quiet tonight... but when was her gut feeling ever right?

Eve has lived in America for a couple years now and since she has been here, Eve has not seen the greatness of New York. Site seeing is such a tourist thing to do, but Eve has always wanted to see these special land marks because of the history they represent. Eve always loved to learn and felt it was necessary to better ones self as a person.
Towards the end of her day she reached her final destination, Ellis Island. Eve left The Statue of Liberty for her last stop because she wanted to be amazed. Lady Liberty is all that Eve aspired to be, a symbol of hope and justice for a land of endless possibility.
Unfortunately for Eve, the tours were coming to an end for the day. "No matter, I can just see it my self," Eve thought as she started to act on her plan. She bent the light around herself to appear invisible and passed through security to get to the Statue. Then when she got close enough to the statue, and saw that no one was around, turned herself into light particles so she could fly her way to the top. Eve loved that ability . It helped her travel so much faster. Its a good thing I can fly in this form cause I would hate to have to climb to the top and be invisible. My energy would be drained Eve thought.
As she reached the very top she decided to sit on the crown to get a good view of all the city. Since it was now completely dark out, Eve was shining very bright and she couldn't help it. She did not want to be noticed unless she was acting as a hero. People have a tendency to hate mutants, and Eve was no exception, and since Eve was a naturally shy and reserved person, being noticed when she did not want to, is not ideal. She hurried to find a spot to rest. When Eve sat down she turned herself into the normal form. She gazed out at the city and was stunned. New york was a city of colors and lights that took Eve's breathe away. "Simply amazing," Eve said in her beautiful British accent as she held her arms over her heart.

A black, sterling silver picture frame lay on the couch in front of her. Engraved on the bottom of the frame was 'Happy 21st Birthday, Love Aki.' She had been staring at the picture for an hour. In it Tara stood next to him. The smile that was on Aki's face looked so carefree, while her's looked forced. They were completely different and yet they were extremely close. She couldn't imagine her life without him. Tara kicked her legs in the air, frustrated. It had been a week since she had seen him. Which was really difficult since they did live together. Why did I have to fight with him? She thought flipping over on the couch. A part of her wanted to just go into his room and apologize to him. But she did mean everything she said to him. That girl gave her a weird vibe. By girl she was referring to his fiance, Ame Ling. It wasn't an engagement of his choosing it was because of his family. They chose that girl to marry him when he was five years old and Aki was accepting it. The subject made her so angry that she decided to leave the apartment. She put her costume on and placed her weapons in their correct places. Then she covered her face with her usual mask. Closing her eyes she visualized in her mind where she wanted to go as she faded into the shadows. The wind hit her face as she reappeared at her destination, Ellis Island. Tara glanced around at the scenery and it still looked exactly as it had a year ago. The air smelled clean and the Statue of Liberty looked breathe taking as usual. She decided to sit on the floor to relax a bit. Her eyes closed as she thought, I'm sorry Aki. I can't accept her.

Sapphire Ellis Island, NY Seeing the light...
After a couple of minutes of sitting by herself on the great monument's head, Becca noticed that the sky was starless. Mostly, due to all the lights shining from the city. Back in her hometown every night was a starry night and she missed it quite a lot. However, what the city lacked in stars it made up for in lights. The lights from the city looked beautiful from this point of view. Just then the young blond saw a shiny light coming up in the air. At first she thought it was the reflection of a helicopter on the water, but then she realized it was someone or something flying up to where she was.
Immediately, she floated in the air and hit behind the statue's crown. In a matter of seconds the light transformed into a very beautiful woman with long red hair. Becca had always wanted to have red hair but believed she could not pull it off as much as others could. "Simply Amazing" said the red head with a British accent. Oooh! Pretty! thought Sapphire as she began moving towards the girl. "It is indeed isn't it..." she agreed with the girl as she came up behind her.

"It is indeed isn't it..." a young women had said. The presence of the woman had scared Eve. She was not expecting anyone else to be up there and was thinking the worst of the situation.
OMG! What if she is is trying to kidnap me. I have heard of experimenting on mutants...Wait... Did she see me use my powers?...How else could I get up here? Eve thought as she felt the young woman come closer. Eve was not used to people coming closer to her without her knowing them. She wasn't the most outgoing.
Eve didn't like surprises and she reacted hastily. Eve let out a hard, bright light flash that looked as if everyone around would be blinded and or knocked off. The moment she did that Eve regretted it.
"Oh no what if they were just trying to say hi...." Eve said.

Suddenly she saw a bright flash emanating from the head of the Statue of Liberty but just as quickly as she saw it the light disappeared. So she decided to check it out. Closing her eyes, she pulled herself into the shadows. Arriving at her destination she opened her eyes. Tara made sure not to pull herself out of the shadows. After all she didn't know who the two women were that stood before her. "Oh no what if they were just trying to say hi...." one of them said. The one who had spoken had red hair and green eyes. Her pale skin seemed to glow in the moonlight. All Tara could see of the other woman was she had straight blonde hair that fell past her shoulders. She also was floating in the air for some reason. Observing the red heads posture told her she was being defensive. So maybe she was the one that made the bright light? Tara thought. The blonde just looked friendly but hell if Tara was going to barge in when she didn't know what was going on. So she remained in the shadows, observing.

Sapphire Ellis Island, NY Falling is not cool...
When approaching the young red head, Becca had expected the girl to freak out. After all, if someone took the time to come to the top of a giant statue in an island all by themselves... they wanted to be alone. Rebecca most certainly did. However, what she had not expected was the girl to produce a blast of light so bright that it caused Becca to cover her eyes with her left arm and stumble backwards.
The light seemed to also have some sort of hardness to it so it pushed her backwards a little bit making her incredibly dizzy. What the hell did this bitch do to me?! she thought as she unknowingly stepped off the statue's head and fell off.
Her cape and her long hair flapped in the wind as she fell. She needed to get a hold of herself soon or she would crash. Finally, Becca regained her sight allowing her to focus on flying back up to lady liberties crown. She then floated by the red head who seemed to be concerned over what she had done. "Geez! If you want to be alone all you had to do was ask!" she yelled at the girl still floating in the air.

As Eve noticed the blond beauty falling to her demise, Eve felt a wave of horror pass through her. She was scared that she was going to kill this random girl, and that she couldn't do anything to help her. What can I do to help her? I can't fly unless I am intangible, and even then I can't lift her to safety...
Eve stared in disbelief as she just saw the girl plummet to the ground, racing faster and faster to her soon death. Then a miracle happened... at least it was a miracle to Eve. The girl started to fly upward. A wave of relief washed over Eve... then disbelief... then horror. "Oh my god, This chic is going to beat the crap out of me," Eve mumbled under her breath.
"Geez! If you want to be alone all you had to do was ask!" the blond girl told Eve as she was floating in the air. Eve stared at her wondering if it came to a fight, will she even survive. "I am so sorry. I was not expecting anyone to be up here at this time of night and I got very scared that you were or are possibly going to harm me in some way," Eve stumbled across her words as she spoke to the woman. "I over reacted and when I saw you fall I was on the verge of tears cause I didn't know how I can help you get out of that situation."

After listening to their whole discussion... she felt nosy... She wondered if she should just come out of the shadows. After all she hated listening in on conversations... But she was glad this was a good situation and not a bad one. Tara allowed the shadows to slowly fall away from her body as she took a step forward. "Sorry I didn't mean to drop in. The light caught my attention." She added with a smile. Although with the mask covering her mouth she knew they couldn't tell. Hopefully she wouldn't be attacked but if she was, the shadows were very near. They could quite easily envelope her in a matter of seconds if they were to attack. She couldn't be too optomisstic in a world that continously failed her.

Sapphire Ellis Island, NY Party of three! Woot!
Sapphire's hair continued to flap in the wind along with her cape as she floated above the woman. The woman who had thrown her off the statue was now speaking to her with a very cute British accent. Rebecca had always had a thing for the British, so listening to her apologize was incredibly amusing. "Okay okay don't get your panties in a bunch... I'm not mad." she said in response to the woman's continuous apologies.
Then out of nowhere another woman entered the picture. She looked like a ninja, but one could tell from her figure she was beautiful. "Sorry I didn't mean to drop in. The light caught my attention." said the dark woman figure with a slight Indian accent. "Yeah shiny things tend to attract people... anyways it's getting a little too crowded up here for me.. sooo I'm off" Becca said as she began to float away from the two women. Not wanting to know anything about either one of them.
Then it happened.
The sky turned orange and fire lit the night sky. The earth cracked and mayhem ensued around them. Hell was now on Earth. That was the only explanation for what was happening around Becca right now. "Damn... this can't be good." she said.

While Eve was apologizing, a random woman steps out of the shadows. She was a beautiful, Indian girl that looked like she stepped out of Naruto....at least that's what Eve had seen. Why was everyone here at the Statue of Liberty today? Eve thought.
"Sorry I didn't mean to drop in. The light caught my attention," the Ninja, at least that's what Eve was referring to the girl as, said. Eve's powers seemed to attract attention, especially in the dark when they were most noticeable. The other girl was still just floating in the air, probably already bored with the entire situation."Yeah shiny things tend to attract people... anyways it's getting a little too crowded up here for me.. sooo I'm off," the blond heroine said.
Eve was starting to get uncomfortable with so many people around. She wasn't used to being around people who she did not know, and then it happened.
The sky turned black and the smell of sulfur filled the air. Heat and humidity saturated the surroundings. The sky turned red with blood. Hell was on Earth and it seemed as if a war was going to happen. "Damn... this can't be good," the blond said. "No, it isn't," Eve said as adrenaline coursed through her veins.

"Yeah shiny things tend to attract people... anyways it's getting a little too crowded up here for me.. sooo I'm off," the blonde said. Tara stared at the blonde as she flew away. What a bitch. She thought. Suddenly the star filled sky began to turn a bright, reddish orange. A strange smell hit Tara's nose as she breathed in the air surrounding her. It basically smelled like sulfur. An uncomfortable feeling went through Tara as she observed her surroundings. Her body tense, on guard. "Damn... this can't be good," the blonde said still floating in the air. "No, it isn't," The red head said in response. Tara couldn't even verbalize what she felt. All she could do was watch, helplessly, as everything around her changed. A grin formed on her face beneath the mask. She knew that something terrible was coming and she couldn't wait.

Sapphire Ellis Island, NY Hell on Earth!? Great...
As the environment around her changed Sapphire studied the faces of the women around her. At first she thought it might have been one of them doing the hell switcharoo, but looking at their faces she knew it couldn't have been them. The other two women were just as surprised by the changes as she was. Flying creatures she figured were demons were now coming their way and they did not look very friendly. "Can you guys fight...?" she asked the pair as the demons came closer and closer. "...if not you better learn fast!" she yelled as she charged towards the incoming demons.
The demons looked like a small version of a dragon or maybe a person sized flying lizard.. Some of them seemed to just be causing mayhem around the city and others seemed to be coming straight for the group of superheroes. Finally, the young blond made contact with one of the demons. It's sharp talons slashing away at her flesh. Luckily, she avoided most of the attacks, and then sent a stream of quintessence towards the herd of demons. A couple of them were fried and were now falling out of the sky. Still... more came and Sapphire could not handle them all by herself...
Where the hell are the Avengers when you need them?!

"Can you guys fight? If not you better learn fast!" The blond said. As soon as she said that, the group was rushed with what to Eve's disbelief seemed to be ....well, demons. These hellish figures were causing mayhem and were looking for a fight. Eve's adrenaline started pumping. She was finally able to prove to the world that she was a hero and not just some freak with the ability to control light.
This is my chance to shine... Eve thought as she saw one of the demons slash at the blond's flesh. The wound did not look that bad, but for some reason, Eve thought the blond might have some invulnerability going on that she did not have unless in her light form. Eve burst into light. Like a billion of tiny stars floating around in a galaxy, her appearance looked holy. "I think this is an appropriate look," Eve said and with that she blasted the closest demon with hard light. Next she flew to were the blond girl was... and out of now where a demon flew from behind her and started to slash with fury. The only problem with that it was going right through eve. She was ammused by its efforts.
"That won't work," Eve spoke as she redirected the light from the demons eyes and blind it in darkness. The demon flew around thrashing, not knowing were it was flying, screeching and screaming the most horrible sounds. Eve decided it needed to be put out of its misery. With that she made a ring of hard light and encircled it around the demon. She then tightened the light tighter and tighter. The demon was struggling against it. She continued on, squeezing the life out of it. She did not know if this would work but, Eve was hoping to cut the demons body in half. As she continued on with her efforts, all she could help think was, I hope this battle is epic.

"Can you guys fight? If not you better learn fast!" The blonde said as she went towards the winged creatures. They looked like demons of some sort, Aki would have loved to see them. Tara watched the demons that were coming closer to where she stood with each second that passed. The way they flew was pretty although they looked entirely viscous and primal. Just then one of them slashed at the blonde. The wound didn't look bad at all and she knew the woman had healing capabilities, maybe even be invulnerable. Also she had a power similiar to lightening which she had seen earlier. The red head seemed like she wanted to join the blonde and she turned into some strange form. She began to glow and visually she looked just like stars in the sky. Her powers looked related to light as well. "I think this is an appropriate look," She said as she hit a demon with a beam of light. A demon flew behind her and slahed at her. All of it's attempts tpo harm her failed terribly. She looked rather amused by it's efforts. "That won't work," she said hitting the flying demon in the eyes with her beam of light. It screeched and flew aimlessly around the sky. Tara found herself wishing she could fly, but she stood on the rooftop watching them fight. A demon flew up closer to the red head but she seemed to concentrated on choking the demon she had blinded earlier to notice. Concentrating on forming a lasso she grabbed the darkness and spun it around. Then she threw it into the air. The rope of darkness flew high and wrapped around the creature's wing. She gave the rope a strong yank and the beast began plumeting towards the roof top. The creature fought against her and she wrapped the rope around her arm, pulling even harder. It cried as blood dripped from it's very damaged wing. "Come to me." She said giving the rope a final yank, causing the beast to finally hit the roof. Tara made the lassu disappear and she ran toward it pulling out her blade. In it's last efforts to survive it thrashed it's leg out at her as it tried to stand. But it was too late she had already jumped in the air and beheaded the creature. Blood covered the ground and Tara smiled as more landed on the roof top. "Let's do this." She stated running towards the enemy.
